White Water Kayaking

I run a blog that functions as a self-help/support group page and community, which can be found at www.dailyreasonstolive.com.  I make daily recommendations and topics for things people can and should be doing with their lives.  I have the motto that I will never ask or expect anyone to do anything that I won't do myself. I chose to focus our first month, the month of January, on popular New Year's Resolutions and how to achieve them.  That landed today's topic on the popular New Year's Resolution: "Try an Extreme Sport."  There are a few I'd be willing to try, but I don't get paid to blog and am otherwise unemployed due largely to mental/emotional disabilities and chronic migraines that are especially triggered in office environments by the fluorescent lighting.  So I will practice what I preach and do what I suggest other people can do, but I can't afford to make it happen on my own.  So choosing the one that most appeals to me that is also most accessible and relatively local, being something I can accomplish with a car trip across the state, I've landed on White Water Kayaking.  I'm excited about the prospect, but also need to capture it on camera or my blog followers get nothing out of the deal, and in the end it's for their inspiration and probably entertainment.  So while I'm waiting on a few fee and rental specifics from the company I'm looking at going with I have a broad idea of the price range for the kayaking trip, the gas to get to Durango and back, and the cost of appropriate waterproof action camera and mounting equipment to capture the experience.  I've also got the camera equipment on an Amazon wishlist, and since it's a seasonal activity with the trip happening hopefully in June (the later in the season the less impressive the rapids) the trip would be shortly following a birthday, so in the unlikely event I end up with more than I need monetarily, it would honestly probably be spent on a hotel room so I don't have to make the 5 hour drive back exhausted.  If not on a hotel room then it would be put in savings towards funding my next big blogging adventure.

Supporting this campaign would mean the world to me, as it would not only be supporting me and my desire to do something fun and active and Bucket List worthy, but it would also be showing support to our community and I started the blog with the desire to help people who need it. That focus hasn't changed, and I want to prove to people that no matter what starting point they come from, they can achieve anything they really put their minds, hearts, and souls into.  This would be symbolic of that.
