White Sands Robotics Vex World Trip

Donation protected
The White Sands Middle School Vex IQ Robotics Team needs your help.

Earlier in March, the White Sands Robotics team participated in the New Mexico State Vex Robotics IQ Challenge.    The challenge consisted of teams from schools throughout the state who’s goal was to design, built and control a robot to accomplish the following goals in the vex arena:

1.       Knock of as many of your opponents “Hex Balls” as possible from the wall

2.       Navigate the balancing bridge to the opposite site to capture your teams hex balls

3.       Return your teams hex balls to your sides scoring tower

The team with the most points at the end of the completion goes on to the next round.

The White Sands Robotics Team came in first place through the entire state and advanced to the world competition on April 23rd in Louisville KY.   On top of coming in first place, they were able to win 9 awards at the completion including the “Excellence” award ensuring them a spot at the World Competition.

Although the Las Cruces School District has provided some funding for the students to participate, it does not cover all of the costs for them to be able to attend.   This is where we need your help.    We are trying to raise $4000 to pay for meals, lodging, transportation, including airfare to allow them to participate.    Your donations will help us ensure these amazing, talented students are able to have a once in a life time inspirational trip to show the world what they can accomplish.

Thanks for your help.
