Wheels for Catholic Chaplaincy Work

My brothers & Sisters in Christ,
My name is Fr. Charles, I have been a Roman Catholic Priest for 15 years. I am from the Diocese of Port Elizabeth in South Africa and I am currently on loan in the UK. I am working as an officiating chaplain, this requires me to put in many miles on the road and I am sad to say that the car I have is no longer road worthy and my diocese is unable to fund a replacement. The cost of repairing it would far outweigh its current value.
Faithful Catholics who are serving in the UK armed forces and their families are spread out across the whole country and I have been asked to minister to their pastoral and spiritual needs. This means celebrating Mass in many different locations, teaching and instructing the faithful in their faith, baptising children, hearing confessions and visiting their families when they are in need.
I have, for the last couple of months, been borrowing a friend’s car to complete this work but I feel it would be better all-round if I had my own transport.
Therefore, I am appealing to faithful Christians everywhere to help me carry on this work that has been given to me. I am looking to replace my last car with something that is reliable, practical and robust.
I am hoping with your help to be able to go into Lent with my transport problem resolved.
With the current shortage of priests each one of us is called to minister to ever growing areas. Having a car to fulfil this ministry will mean that I will be able to carry out my work.
There are great demands made upon on us every single day by lots of worthwhile and great charities, so I am asking you in all humility to be as generous as you can to help me a lowly priest of Jesus Christ to hear the cry of the poor and bring them the comfort of the sacraments and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a sad fact that those serving in the armed forces can have their spiritual needs overlooked. Alongside regular chaplains, I am privileged to minister to these men and women and their families. Please, in your charity, help me to continue doing this.
If, please God, I raise more than the necessary funds, all extra funds will go to Crown of Thorns UK who do great work in caring for those who are in need, spiritually as well as physically. They also minister directly to priests in need who have fallen on hard times.
