When my sister Molly was 28 she was getting ready for work like a normal day, felt a terrible sensation when getting dressed, and suddenly was unable to move. She became paralyzed from the chest down. Then we had no idea from what, she was a young, healthy mother, hard working, a manager at Honey Dew Donuts in Webster. From that day on her life has never been the same. She spent years in the hospital while Doctors tried to figure out what was wrong. After 2 years of being in the Hospital and moved around to other hospitals, catching MERSA in the process, she was diagnosed with a mystery illness called Transverse Myelitis. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/transverse-myelitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20354726 There is no known cure, her life is not one she would wish on anyone. They gave her 1 year to live, she has beat all odds and has lived for 14. She is the true definition of a warrior. She is mostly bed ridden, sometimes has a good day where she can sit up for a few hours. Most people do not live with this condition. She has struggled non stop, her boyfriend remained by her side through it all, he is her care giver. Times have been really hard as of late and her wheelchair van is no longer running and needs to be replaced. So we are reaching out to everyone for support, any support is more than enough, we love you all and we know everyone has their story, their struggles. We would love to find a cure for Transverse Myelitis and of course any spinal cord injuries and hope one day as the world and science progress we believe this could be a reality. Right now we just need to get Molly to her appointments which is not an easy task. We thank each and everyone of you!!!!!
