Western Pups Abandoned in Country

Hello ALR supporters.   We are sure many of you know as adopters how dogs come into rescue and end up in loving homes (shelter - to transport - to foster - to home)   Well it is not always true and sometimes we are in a real pickle.   The western pups - Denver - Tahoe and Cheyenne are one of those times.  They were found in a rural country area. ( they were found w their mom but the owner reclaimed her and left the pups to die)  The dog catcher there is required to take them to the big city shelter after a hold period.  At the time they were found there was distemper at the shelter so no dogs were being adopted - they would have been euthanized right away.   He knew they were great dogs and contacted us.  We said yes we would take them - the thing is by saying this we had to move them to safety that day- step in boarding.  Well boarding for over a month adds up -  $550 to be exact.  Then each dog needed complete vetting - Denver $398 Tahoe $356 and Cheyenne $361.   Then we factor in transport $630 and food/HW prevention/misc $100 - that leaves ALR in the red about $1200 after we collect the $399 fees.   We are happy they are now in loving homes but we need help trying to make up this difference through donations.  We are a non profit group and all volunteers - we do not get any state or federal funding and operate strictly off monies received off of donations and adoption fees.   Our donations are down compared to last year and without help it is hard to say yes to the heart worm positive dogs who need help or situations like this the next time they come along.  Can you please help?
