Help The Cat Shack Help Tim!
Poor Tim was a neighborhood stray that a friend of The Cat Shack took in a few months ago. Last night, Tim's caretaker contacted The Cat Shack - Tim was in pain and could not urinate. He needed help, and right away, but she couldn't afford vet care for him. The Cat Shack stepped in, and sent Tim and his caretaker to Quakertown Emergency Vet. Tim needed emergency surgery to unblock his bladder and repair damage caused by the blockage.
Tim had surgery yesterday morning. TCS got a call in the middle of the surgery, there was too much damage, and the surgeon couldn't get the bladder catheter in. She advised that the most humane thing to do was to have Tim euthanized. Sadly, we agreed. However, Tim had other plans. The surgeon called back in 10 minutes, saying that they'd tried one more time, a"Hail Mary", and were able to get the catheter inserted!!! Tim was saved, again!
Tim still has a long road ahead of him, and will need hospitalization for at least a week for his urethra to heal. But he is on his way to recovery, and even now, all the vet techs are telling us how nice a cat Tim is. Meanwhile, The Cat Shack has a large bill for Tim's vet care, and it's growing bigger. We know that this is a tough time of year, but if you can spare a bit to help us help Tim, and to be able to step up again if another situation arises, it would be a great gift. The Cat Shack and Tim are grateful for your help.
