From Henry's Mommy & Daddy:

"Dear Friends and Family,

On May 29th, 2015 at 6:55 PM we welcomed our first child, Henry Nathaniel Larson, into the world.

Henry is a micropreemie and was born after only 24 weeks in the womb. At birth he weighed 1 pound and 6 ounces and is a little over 12 inches long. Henry is currently at the NICU in a hospital in Northern California and will remain there for 3-4 months. We have felt an outpouring of love and support from friends and family.

Already Henry has proven to be a miracle baby. He has beat the odds and survived beyond what doctors expected. Not only has he survived, he has exceeded expectations for his major scans and tests. He still has a long road ahead of him and we are unsure what the future will hold.

He is a strong little guy with a whole lot of personality. Very wiggly even right after birth, he loves to stretch his arms and kick about. So much so that he kicks off the blankets that the nurse wraps him up in (haha!). He loves being read to, listening to mommy's voice, getting "aired out" from the diaper and holding our fingers. To us he is our beautiful and perfect son.

We believe in the power of prayer, and have seen the evidence of God's power through our little one. We are truly thankful for the prayers we have received from thousands of people all over the country. It is heartening to know so many people care for your son even when they haven't met us. We truly are eternally grateful.

 Blessings,

 Jamie and Nathan Larson

What will the money be used for?

Insurance coverage through Cobra as well as traveling expenses and medical bills. Unfortunately, due to an employment change, there was a two week gap in our insurance between May 13th-June 1st. Jamie's pregnancy had been perfectly healthy up to this point. Henry was born very unexpectedly and suddenly on May 29th. That's three days of medical bills--the NICU alone costs $60,000 PER DAY. We also learned that our new insurance that started June 1st will NOT cover Henry's hospital bills at all because he hasn't been discharged--they consider it a "pre-existing condition."

THANKFULLY, we learned that we qualified for cobra, which will cover Henry's stay. Even though the monthly payment costs more than our mortgage every month, we are thankful we have another option besides being buried in millions of dollars in medical debt.

We are however in a financial pinch. Between the monthly cobra payments, the deductible, out-of-pocket costs and traveling expenses, we have come to the point where we are asking for help. Thank you so much to those of you have already given--we are eternally grateful for each one of you!! This eases such a burden on us, I cannot even tell you.

Any money not used for Henry's medical bills, travel expenses and insurance will be donated to another NICU family in need.

Thank you for your generous hearts and faithful prayer.
