On Saturday, April 20th, my future son-in-law, Karlin Weise, was involved in a severe dirt bike accident and was flown by helicopter to Theda Care Hospital in Neenah. He remains in critical condition in the ICU with a spinal cord injury, collapsed lungs, 15 broken ribs and a broken collar bone. On Sunday, April 21st, he underwent an 8 hour surgery to repair shattered vertebrae. He is currently breathing with the help of a ventilator. Things were starting to look up, as best as they could under these circumstances, until he developed a staph infection this Saturday. At this point they are keeping Karlin heavily sedated and focusing on clearing his lungs and controlling his infection.
We have had an outpouring of love and concern for Karlin, Ashtyn Feld, and their two little boys. So many people have asked what they can do to help and for that we are grateful! At this time the the best thing anyone can do is PRAY! Pray that Karlin can pull through this and begin to heal physically and emotionally. Pray that my daughter and Karlin's family remain strong and find comfort in their support system. And pray that my grandsons adjust to all the changes that have occurred in their lives within the past two weeks.
Due to Karlin's injury he will be out of work for an extended period of time and may be required to go to a spinal cord injury rehabilitation center.  Medical bills along with travel expenses and adaptive equipment will be very expensive. We appreciate any donation that can help Karlin, Ashtyn and their boys.
