WHAT IS THE BUTTERFLY DASH?
-The 3rd annual Butterfly Dash is a school-wide event to promote health and fitness among our students, while providing the opportunity to raise funds for our school.
-Students will raise funds by asking family and friends to sponsor them based on the number of laps they pledge to run or walk. Sponsors can pledge a flat donation to support their lap goal and our fundraising goal.
WHAT MAKES THIS FUNDRAISER UNIQUE?
-Unlike catalog fundraisers, where companies typically take 50% of the profits, 100% of the funds you donate and will go toward our school.
-There is a minimal online charge of 2.9% + $.30 for credit card processing via WePay, which will slightly reduce the donation amount.
-Students will have the opportunity to engage in fun activities, as we collectively move closer to reaching our fundraising goal (Classroom Nature hike, more recess equipment, Group Yoga/Dance Class with Miss Karla, Photo Booth at June Fair).
-Our PTO will also be using a portion of the funds raised to add to the school Makerspace room (allows students to be hands-on and creative - designing, experimenting, building, and inventing, focusing on science, technology, engineering, and math), as well as purchasing new lighting for the auditorium.
WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THE BUTTERFLY DASH?
-While raising funds is a big part of our goal for this event, another great part is building unity and school spirit among our students, staff, and community.
-We also want to generate lots of energy and excitement around the importance of health and fitness with our students at Webster Hill School.
HOW DO OUR CHILDREN BENEFIT FROM THE BUTTERFLY DASH?
-A strong sense of school pride and togetherness.
-Students will be able to actively demonstrate the importance of health and fitness.
-The money raised will help with school improvements, and add to our meaningful Makerspace for our students, an exciting new school program.
