#WeAreElPaso - MACI

Tax deductible
El Paso is experiencing a cultural, economic, and social revolution. In the last 15 years, El Paso has seen unprecedented investments in downtown revitalization, infrastructure and business investments along the I-10 corridor, and a bond that is stronger than ever with Ciudad Juarez, its Sister City. We are excited for El Paso’s future – our future.

As El Paso continues to slam its footprint into the world economy, it is more important than ever to cultivate El Paso’s cultural identity. San Antonio has its River Walk. Denver has its 9 sports teams. El Paso has 337 years of rich history (beginning with the Ysleta Mission in 1680) – more than most cities in the U.S. can claim.

El Paso is a blend of peoples, customs, and languages. Its history can be found in the region’s rich literature, cuisine, dance, music, film, and architecture. It can be found in historic buildings that once-upon- a-time housed the same businesses and people that shaped the city and overcame segregation. It can also be found in the oral histories of our abuelitas whose lessons should not be forgotten.

El Paso: a tough city that defeated the arid Chihuahuan Desert. A center of commerce that supports trade routes that are centuries old. A hub of Mexican-American identity and expression. A city not just upon a hill – but upon a mountain – the Franklin Mountains.

It is time to tell the world: this is who we are. #WeAreElPaso

Please consider helping MACI in creating a world-class Mexican-American Cultural Center in El Paso.
