Our participants are located in Houston, Texas; Spring, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; South Bend, Indiana; Columbus, Ohio; Johannesburg, SA; Utica and Syracuse New York. The youth, comprised of primarily middle and high school students, are currently preparing for democracy discussions with students at Bishop Bavin school in South Africa, the University of Ghana, and we are currently identifying a school in Nairobi Kenya.

In addition to constitution discourse during their visits abroad our students will be required to research culturally and geographically important information for each country.  Students will keep Journals and present reports to their respective history and social studies teachers in an effort to promote international cultural study opportunities in US high school classes.

We will participate in the Washington D.C., Center for Civic Education, national simulated congressional hearing competition. Students will testify before a panel of judges acting as U.S. Congressional committees and will be scored on their understanding of the Constitution, its application to contemporary issues, reasoning, supportive evidence for policy positions taken, individual responsiveness, and team member participation.

Topics for the constitution study series are:

                1.   The executive branch, its powers and cabinet, the system of Presidential pardons, the Electoral College, the Electoral College certification process, the 25th amendment, Sedition and Insurrection, and impeachment

                2.   Judge Hand, Purpose of Government, Declaration of Independence, Principles of a Constitutional Government
