We believe! Help Max fight Leukemia

Donation protected

Maximilian “Max” is the bright, beloved five-year old son of Dayna and Adrian Schuster. Max began his fight with AML, a form of childhood leukemia, after an initial diagnosis in September 2017. Since that time, Max and his family have endured months of hospitalization for treatments, chemotherapy, infections and a bone marrow transplant in their year-long fight to kick cancer’s a**. It was with immense relief that in June 2018, tests confirmed that “Super Max” was in remission with 100% donor-created cells. Dayna and Adrian were so grateful to finally be able to bring their little warrior home. While not out of the woods, it was a welcome turn of events in an otherwise emotionally harrowing journey.

As is often the case with this type of cancer, Max suffered several setbacks in his recovery. In late October 2018, the unthinkable happened and his medical team confirmed that the leukemia has returned. And so begins the fight of their lives -again. Chemotherapy treatments have begun, and Dayna and Ade have prepared for a second heart wrenching battle.

They have both taken leave from their work, so they can focus every moment and ounce of energy on the only job that matters – supporting Max in his ongoing fight against this cruel disease.

While they are reluctant to request financial support, we know that it will provide a measure of comfort and support that will be most appreciated.

To their amazing circle of friends and family, or to those simply moved to help Max in his fight to conquer cancer, we ask that you please consider supporting Dayna, Adrian and their family as they face the next stretch of this difficult journey together. By raising funds for their family, we hope to ease some of the stress and financial pressure they will face over the next year. Your generosity will help offset expenses – from parking to healthy meals, medical expenses and bills – and provide much needed relief so they can focus on Max.

This is going to be another long, excruciating, hard year. To see him go through all this again breaks all our hearts.
