Henry Is Our Hero!

Our sweet boy Henry was diagnosed on May 25, 2018 with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. He had a large tumor removed from his spinal chord and he is in the midst of a harsh 16 week chemotherapy treatment. His oncology team calls this chemo regimen “The Fast and the Furious” because the cancer spreads so quickly and requires such aggressive treatment. His chemotherapy can cause issues such as infection, mucusitis (painful ulcers in the mouth, throat, GI tract, etc), nausea, vomiting, dehydration and the need for TPN (total paranteral nutrition), amongst many other side effects.  Due to his aggressive treatment needs, Henry will be in and out of the hospital and Oncologist’s office. He will need expensive medications throughout his treatment course. Although he has insurance, the financial burden will still be very great. We are so very grateful to all our family and friends who have showered us with love, hugs, prayers and thoughts. We have been blessed to have people who want to help us financially and thought this Go Fund Me account would be an avenue for people to do just that. Our main focus is on getting Henry back to his fun, playful and healthy self regardless of the cost. However, with the mounting medical bills it is sometimes hard to keep that focus. We appreciate any assistance given and are forever grateful!
