Yesterday was a sad day but very eye opening. For 7 years I’ve had my company Fantashique. I have trained these young ladies and put my heart into making sure they are successful. Along with Lenora Spence we worked our butts off to ensure the stereotypes about Black Women not being able to work together was negated. Coming off a National Championship and several travel opportunities we realized we built a beast of a company. A few months ago I decided I was going to take a break. I was told by Victoria Rose that she wanted to take over the company while I pursued my own personal dreams for a year. I trusted wholeheartedly that would work. I attempted to mend any issues we had in the past and forgive. I opened my home, offered my car and paid an extensive amount of money to Victoria and her mother to help with the transition. It was supposed to be a merge between A Shoe in Dance which is recreational and Fantashique which is pre-professional. After Lenora and I offered to help out with ASID we were shut out and told never to come to ASID rehearsals and those members of ASID were told to no longer come to our classes. Over the past 2 months we have been constantly met with lies, fabrication and outright theft. Costumes were stolen, equipment was broken and items were taken without notice. Our parents were told they couldn’t sit in the lobby because they weren’t trusted. So they were forced to sit on the floor in the hallway by the bathrooms. Along with this we were told we couldn’t hang any Fantashique photos except 1 banner which is simply our logo. They attempted to display our trophies and pass them off as their own. Paying over 1k a month which is more than half of their rent for the 2 days we were there was a bit much and when the amount was questioned we were met with complete disrespect by the entire family excluding Ebony. We requested several meetings and they never showed. We offered opportunities to ASID that were given to Fantashique but never taken. We later found out Fantashique was being targeted by the Rose’s in an attempt to discredit and dissolve our company but that failed. When you have True Love, Passion and Success for this Art nothing can bring you down. Our reputation precedes us. Our Pledge defines us and our Talent speaks for itself. You can’t break something that’s built on a foundation this strong and full of support.

Last night, upon walking into rehearsal, our kids, Elementary through High School, were told they couldn’t enter the PUBLIC facility at the Sportsplex because they were dirty, nasty, filthy and disrespectful (video/audio footage will be posted). We were accused of damaging property even after video footage showed it wasn’t us. We were told it was the owners of the building who said this. After several hours and threats of discrimination it came out that the Rose’s lied on Fantashique simply because I decided to take back over the company after Victoria failed to attend rehearsals, classes and uphold her status as director for several weeks in a row. Cops were called and stated it was a civil case. No 30 day notice, no attempt to rectify and for hours refused to let us get our equipment. It took the owners of the building to give us permission to get our mats, Stereos, training bins, computer and chairs because they were still refusing to let our kids upstairs. The parents and kids were extremely upset/sad and rightfully so. It’s so unfortunate that we as black women can’t work together due to jealousy and envy. Fantashique has stood strong because of our values and we will continue to do so. I was told a long time ago, when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. I’m still learning that because I truly believed people can change. I was wrong and I’m truly hurt by this whole ordeal. I apologize to our Fantashique Parents for not listening. I apologize for almost walking away from you. I apologize for giving up our studio. I won’t apologize for wanting to pursue ME. But, what we need now is support. I know we can find it and receive it. We have rehearsal on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays. If anyone can help us, a true 501C3, please reach out. Fantashique is a company of respectful young ladies who train in Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Hip Hop and Lyrical/Contemporary. They must maintain a C+ grade average every 9 weeks. If you are able to help us, please do. We were basically thrown on the street like trash by people who we trusted only to find out it was ALL ABOUT MONEY.
