Help for Huxley

Donation protected
Huxley means adventurous and outdoorsman. He has definitely come into the world with quite the adventure.

Amber was grocery shopping Labor Day weekend when her water broke in the middle of the store. She was helicoptered from Mankato to Rochester where a severe infection caused her to go into premature labor. After an emergency C-section Huxley Kenneth FitzSimmons was born at 30 weeks gestation weighing just 2 pounds 12 ounces.

Mama got hit with some bad infection and Baby developed a severe bacterial meningitis infection. While mama is slowly recovering at Methodist hospital, the hurdles of this infection are high for baby Huxley.  He needs constant round the clock care at the NICU and will likely remain hospitalized for months.

For Scott and Amber, this is a time of the greatest joy of becoming parents and of unimaginable heartache as Huxley fights through the first weeks of his life. They are spending every moment they can holding Huxley's tiny hand and letting him know how much he is loved.

There have been so many people reaching out and asking how they can help. Amber and Scott have been overwhelmed by the love and generosity of their friends and families as they have been staying in Rochester while sending their daughter Bella off to first grade in Mankato. They will need continued help to be able to manage the expenses and logistics of caring for Huxley in the coming months.  The expenses are just starting. They are facing an extended stay in Rochester, loss of income since they are not home to work, and medical expenses that insurance does not cover. The hospital believes that they will be in Rochester for at least the next 4-8 weeks. Possibly over Thanksgiving. I am asking for any support that people are willing/able to give. No amount is too small.

Knowing that some of these expenses are covered will be one huge burden taken off of their shoulders so that can focus on what’s most important…baby Huxley’s care and needs. I know that Amber and Scott are so grateful for all the prayers and emotional support they have already received and would be equally grateful for any financial support.
