Wayne and Louise

My parents fell victim to the car accident scam involving someone claiming to be my son calling from jail. They said they needed $7 ,000 wired immediately to his attorney and to please not tell anyone about this since he was so embarrassed. The scammers proceeded to fleece my parents for 3 days and they paid $10,000 before finally realizing something didn't ring true and calling the police.
While I understand the stupidity of my parents actions I am still heartsick that this happened to them. They are living off my father's pension and this is crippling for them. My father, being who he is would not approve of me asking for help but I would love to be able to give my parents back what they lost but I am in no position to do so myself. Asking for a little bit of help to ease some of this burden for them.
