Wauwatosa West We the People 2018

Donation protected
Wauwatosa West High School has won the We the People State Championship of Wisconsin for the 11th consecutive year. The team won the State Competition on January 6th and will represent Wisconsin at the National Competition in April in Washington DC.

The We the People competition has students performing as "experts" in a Mock Congressional Hearing format where they break up into six groups and research 18 different questions. Students will craft an opening statement for each questions timed for four minutes. Then the judges will ask six minutes of follow-up questions where the students will take stances on the questions using historical examples, constitutional citations, Supreme Court cases, current events etc. to defend their arguments.

The students will need to raise over $70,000 in order to ensure that all students will be able to make the trip out to Nationals. We are asking for financial assistance by those who value civic education and engaged young adults. Assistance will mean students can focus more time and attention on preparing for the academic side of things and less time on the fund raising requirements.

Please offer your name and what student your donation is on behalf of so we can ensure we get you a proper thank you and any tax receipt information.

We thank you for your consideration and any support you can offer our hard working group of students.
