A Watts Rebirth Ministry

Grant AME Church has been serving God through ministry in the Watts community for the last 110 years where we feed the hungry, cloth the naked, help the homeless, educate children, and share the love of God. Our ministry is one of service to the community.

Through our service, youth activities such as the Kirkland Academy, Math Institute and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs provide educational support for elementary through high school students. An innovative program, Labor of Love Summer Day Camp, provides educational hand-on experiences, educational field trips and nutritional meals for the underserved in Watts. Currently, over 100 youth in the community are served yet some have been turned away due to space constraints. A goal of this campaign is to secure additional resources so the youth population is served in a manner that no one is turned away for services and support. 

Grant Housing and Economic Development Corporation, our non-profit organization, provide housing for 92 families of lower economic means. Programs are also in place to provide food, clothing, and shoes to underprivileged families.  

The members of Grant AME Church have multiple ministries that actively serve the community in some form or fashion. In order to further this good work, we are seeking assistance in our fundraising efforts by going beyond the walls of the church. Your donation will be used to assist in furthering the ministry of the church in a way that impacts the lives of people living in Watts. We believe that God will continue to bless us and that whatever seed you plant here will be multiplied in your life exponentially.
