Did you know that worldwide 1 in every 10 people don't have access to safe and clean water and 1 in 3 don't have access to a proper toilet?
That's 663 million people without water and 2.4 billion people without sanitation.
The staff and community of EnviroForensics are working with WaterAid as part of our Water Innovators challenge to tackle this problem and to be part of the solution.
The Water Innovators challenge encourages teams to provide innovative solutions to development problems in Nicaragua and raise awareness and funds for Nicaragua.
All donations will support our work in Nicaragua where 2 million people don’t have access to adequate sanitation, 800,000 people don’t have access to safe water and 125 children in Nicaragua die each year from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.
$19 can provide safe water to one person
$500 could train and equip a small enterprise to offer toilet installation and septic tank maintenance for communities, or the construction of rainwater catchment systems.
$1,000 could provide a full six-week vocational training course for at-risk adolescent girls to become skilled tradeswomen in water, sanitation and hygiene services.
$2,500 could equip a small enterprise with the means to drill borehole wells and complete them with manual rope pumps.
