Ward Tsingine, was born on April 13, 1957 in Tuba City, AZ and passed away November 30, 2016 in Flagstaff, AZ. He was born for the Tobacco Clan (Hopi) and Deer Water Clan (Navajo).

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11 am at 1st Southern Baptist Church in Flagstaff, AZ and burial site Flagstaff Citizen Cemetery.  A viewing will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at 5 pm Norvel Mortuary.  Reception at Flagstaff Elk’s Lodge. 

 Ward Tsingine B.S., born April 13, 1957-November 30, 2016. He graduated from Coconino High School in 1975. He played football and basketball for two years, participated in cross country and track for three years. He received ten varsity letters. Upon graduation Ward attended Yavapai College where he lettered in basketball. He then attended N.A.U. and received his B.S. in Education. Ward participated in rodeo events and became a professional calf roper, under the Turquoise Circuit, winning various awards. Ward became a teacher and coach at Grey Hills High School in Tuba City for four years. Ward has been employed by the Navajo Nation for 20 years.  Ward Tsingine is survived by his two children Craig and Kaylee Tsingine and one grandson Cooper W. Tsingine.
In his most recent years, Ward was an advid advocate for his community of Coopermine, Kaibeto and Tuba City.  Advocating for water lines, windmills, power lines, veterans support, youth activities and the Diabetes project.  
He was instrumental in restoring the Medal of Honor awards for his late father, Bryon L. Tsingine, Sr. ; receving the Purple Heart with 5 other medals for his service in the US Armed Services.
