Walter the Wonder Dog Needs Surgery

Donation protected
Walter is a three year old shih tzu who is well known throughout our community and deeply loved by his mother Shannon Bagley.  On  July 22nd, Shannon noticed he was bumping into things.  He was taken to a local veterinarian who confirmed Shannon's fears, Walter was blind.  First diagnosed with SARDS, which is incurable, a second opinion from the Animal Eye Clinic of Spokane determined both of Walter's retinas were detached.  Although his left eye is not treatable, there is a chance to save the vision in Walter's right eye!

An additional trip to the Animal Eye Clinic of Seattle confirmed surgery as the only option.  The cost of the surgery is $5500, this does not include any travel, lodging or follow-up appointments.  The Animal Eye Clinic of Seattle is one of only a handful of clinics in the US that performs the surgery, with a 90% success rate.

Detached retina surgery is very time sensitive and Walter's is scheduled for next Thursday, August 2nd!

Walter is Shannon's baby.  He goes to work with her ever day, helping great customers and bring joy to everyone who meets him.  This post is intended to assist Shannon with the financial burden this surgery will create and keep Walter happy and healthy with his mom.

If you are from our community, you have surely met Walter!  He may be the most famous dog in Bigfork.  Please help however you can.  Any money raised will be given to Shannon and go directly to surgery cost.
