Sapphire was hit by a car this evening. I brought her to an emergency vet clinic to be stabilized until her owners could be found. She has a complex fracture of her back leg which will require major surgery to either repair or amputate. Her owners contacted the vet and due to health issues of their own, are unable to pay for treatment. They will have to have her euthanized. They asked the vet to reach out to me. Sapphire is only 4 years old and extremely sweet. She allowed me, a stranger, to pick her up and put her in my back seat which must have been excruciating. She never growled once, only rested her head on my hand. I'm hoping to raise money for surgery, so I can have her treated and then find her a loving home. I'd take her myself, but we already have 2 large dogs. Please donate. If we can get enough people to donate just a little, maybe we can save this sweet baby.
