Help Secure Artist's Dream Studio

Donation protected
Since she was a little child my mother, Debbie, always dreamed of being an artist. Life happens and sometimes the direction a persons life takes is not exactly what their dream was. She pursued her art and crafts for as long as I can remember, in cramped tiny homes and traveling to shows on the weekends. For so many years, as a single mom, she had done everything for my brother and I,  then in 2008 she lost her home when the economy tanked and the shows were no longer lucrative.  In the years since, she has worked hard to rebuild her life and now has a fulltime job she loves, and after a 5 year break, has begun to paint again.  She is doing shows again, and creating her art in a space that is no more than about 6 feet x 10 feet. She paints, does wood working and repurposes vintage items all out of her rental apartment.  She was not even thinking about purchasing a home, as she was more concerned about being able to put money aside for my future, when one night she sent me a picture of this property for sale. It turns out that it is an old Masonic lodge. Wide open space on both the first and second floor, turned into a residential property. I pursuaded her to look at it and as we did, I saw a light in her eyes... It felt like home to her...and it would make the perfect artist's studio. As we left the property she started crying, and said if someone else would buy the property they surely would destroy the elements of history still held within those walls, (the large globe light fixtures, rounded ceilings on the second floor etc. ) they would separate it into bedrooms and destroy it's character. I knew then she had to have this property and finally have the studio she always dreamed of. Ever since that showing she has been working hard to try to obtain the property.  The problem... she wasn't planning on purchasing a home... not yet anyway, so her savings is currently not up to what she would need.  Time is of the essence as this is a foreclosure property which has had several price drops.  I want this so badly for my mom, so I am starting this fund.  She is not only my mom, but also my best friend, and together we have started rebuilding her art career, and have named our little business Treasured Times Studio. Now she just needs a studio.  Please help make her dream come true. Stay tuned for the comeback of an amazing artist!
