Black Panther Movie Tickets

There is something awe aspiring to have the feeling that you and your race could be deemed a hero; especially by the standards of America that are constantly telling Black children, they are anything but [a hero]. I want my children to not only have exposure to the beauty that Africa is but also have the feeling of power that I hope the film bestows.

I have 28 students and am hoping to get them each a 10 dollar gift card to go see the film. Any additional funding will go toward helping parents purchase tickets as well. I teach in Southeast D.C., a historically marginalized neighborhood in our nation's capital. Unfortunately, movie going is sometimes out of the budget. No matter their circumstance, I don't want my students missing out on this historic event.
