Buddhist Pilgrimage To Nepal

My name is Laurie. I have been attempting to follow the Buddhist way of life for over 30 years. 5 years ago I was able to make a visit to Nepal. I made a request in front of the Stupa in the center of Katmandhu that I would be able to return in 5 years.  When I came back from that trip I worked as a caregiver for 4 years. Then I was able to get a job as a prep person in a local fast food restaurant. I worked diligently for a long time but due to the cost of everyday living and my low pay, I was not able to save much money.  And now it's 5 years later and I don't have enough money saved to go.

If you are able to help me  I will return to the stupa in Katmandhu and pray for your peace and well being.

Much of my early life was confused and painful.  When I began to study the Buddhist teachings, I learned what it meant to have a life that was purposeful. Continuing with my studies and practice, I have found the treasure which is the basis for all Buddhist thought and action -- compassion. This quality has become most precious to me and is the  motivating factor in my life.

Going back to Nepal would help me develop more as a Buddhist practitioner by being in the land of Buddha. Visiting the sacred sites will inspire and impart blessings to me to go further on my path and to share the blessings of peace and harmony in my relationships in the world.
