WE DID IT!!! With some Pay Pal donations it put us to our goal! We have the money for her surgery deposit tomorrow by the hairs of our chinny chin chin! I don’t know how to begin to thank everyone! I have been flabbergasted by the love and generosity of my friends and family and the kindness and overwhelming support from total strangers! This nightmare is so very close to being over. I see the finish line!!! This would of never happened without all of you! From the bottom of my exhausted heart... THANK YOU! ❤️❤️
7/31/18 Hi friends! I have adjusted our goal to reflect the money we earned from the bake sale this past weekend! We are just $2,984 away from the $9,000 needed!

7/19: Well friends I just got the dreaded call from the hospital. I absolutely HATE that we are right back in this spot! This 3rd surgery is $42,000 and they are requiring us to pay $9,000 on the day of surgery. (In 2 weeks) I have asked if this is negotiable and they are inquiring about it. I mean ummm we can’t just leave a colostomy bag on her...RIGHT?! So I am asking for donations and shares like never before! Anything you can help with would be beyond appreciated! ❤️❤️❤️
July 17th UPDATE:
Hi Everyone!
Scout is scheduled for her third surgery on Thursday, August 2nd. Hopefully this will be our final surgery! We will have to stay in the hospital for 2 nights. I am not really looking forward to another round of emotional trauma but I am looking forward to this being over and Scout getting on the road to healing. If you can find it in your heart to help us out with the medical bills we would be beyond appreciative and grateful. They have started rolling in and it is enough to make me vomit! I am trying to stay positive and just focus on Scout and her well being. We are gladly accepting shares and prayers as well! Love to you all!!

Hi friends!
Scout had her second surgery. It was very hard to watch my sweet baby get poked 9 times in her little hands only for them to finally start an IV in her foot, scream when anyone would walk through the door and hearing her whimper in pain. It was frustrating to know I could not take her pain away. I’m praying that the trauma does not stay with her. So two surgeries down and 1 left to go.
I wish so bad that all of this stuff was already behind us. I wish my anxiety over the financial tsunami that is about to hit us was replaced with peace and assurance. The thought of being financially sunk at the end of this makes me sick to my stomach. We are looking at possibly $150,000 -$200,000 when all is said and done. Please know that I appreciate everyone who has already donated and continues to share this link. No amount has been too small. For me, It isn’t about the amount but rather the willingness to help us, support us, pray for us and love us! I can’t thank you enough! ❤️ I will update again as the 3rd surgery draws closer. Until then, thank you for continuing to share our story!

UPDATE: My name is Melissa Rice. I'm writing this on behalf of my dear friend Mary. She called me this morning with an update on Scout. A few days ago Scout busted some of her stitches after surgery while straining to potty. They thought it was just the external stitches. The doctor today determined, she busted ALL of her stitches internally and externally. So, Scout will have to be admitted today and they will redo her surgery in the morning. They are also placing a colostomy bag that Scout will have to have for at least 6 weeks. This will help prevent any straining and help her surgery heal. She has to undergo rounds of antibiotics & at this point they are expecting at least 2-3 days hospital stay (for monitoring) after her surgery. This GOFUND me has been amazing at almost getting to the first goal. Now, we have updated the new goal to reflect the cost of surgery and the cost of 2-3 days hospital stay. At this rate they may be expecting costs up to $100,000.00 though they are hoping for the least amount of time in the hospital. This precious girl and family need our help!! Their insurance doesn't cover this cost. Please help spread the word and donate what you can. AGAIN, PLEASE SHARE, DONATE, SEND LOVE, AND PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.
It was recently discovered that my precious little sweet pea Scout was born with an anorectal malformation. It basically means her anal passage was misplaced in front of where it should be located. We finally understand now (16 months later) that this malformation is the reason she has been severely constipated since she was born. After meeting with the general surgeon, she informed me that she will need to do surgery to move the rectum back to where it should be, sew up the current hole and make her a new one. She told me this surgery should have been done a long time ago and we need to move forward with this. By doing so it will correct the horrific constipation and discomfort she has.
I do not have insurance on her, rather an insurance discount plan. The discount plan will only cover $1,008 total. The hospital called and JUST FOR THE FACILITY FEE, it is $65,000. That does not include the surgeon’s fee or anesthesia. I immediately called to apply for financial assistance with the hospital. If approved we can possibly be eligible for a 70% discount. While I would be extremely grateful and relieved for that discount, that would still leave $20,000 - $25,000 for the facility fee that is due on the day of surgery. My immediate thought was to cancel the surgery and she will just have to continue to suffer until I can figure how to come up with the $20 - $25,000. A friend suggested a go fund me, which I immediately shot down. I can’t tell you how badly it hurts to know I don’t have the means to provide this surgery for her. This is a very awkward and uncomfortable spot to be in. The more I have prayed and thought about this though, I realized that this is not about me and how I may or may not feel. This is about my little girl that needs a surgery to make her better.
