This page has been set up so folks can donate electronically to the Ben Kimble Memorial Fund that is set up at 5/3 Bank.  The Ben Kimble Memorial Fund will be used  for specific scholarships/programs Ben enjoyed (i.e. Special Olympics, school scholarship fund, etc.)  and is our way of honoring his amazing light and memory.

Our family lost our youngest son, Benjamin, Monday, March 18, 2019.  Sadly, he took his own life at the young age of 15. On the outside Ben was a bright, handsome, and funny student. He was also a phenomenal athlete; we all envied his talents.

There is more beyond the tough outer layer many kids and parents knew.  Ben had a big heart, he bonded with kids with special needs and he didn't tolerate bullies.

As his parents we were so proud that he stood for many of the righteous traits we all aspire to. However, Ben also struggled with anxiety and depression. He was in counseling and on medication but it just wasn't enough to subside his pain. Although he had many close friends who could listen to his troubles he didn't want to burden others. It was never a burden for us.

I wanted to let everyone know that I'm shutting down the GoFundMe page. We appreciate all of your generosity and support, its incredible. We have collected $36,344 in total ($25,549 from GoFundMe + $10,795 direct deposited in the 5/3rd account).

We have not spent any money from the account, we'll be figuring out the best way to honor Ben in the coming weeks and months ahead. I have set up a Group Page on FB (Ben Kimble Memorial) which is where I'll post updates and other information. Including stories and pics of Ben, I invite his friends to post pics and share memories as well. The group page is public, so feel free to join at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1238874249604005/

I just set it up, so you wont find much there today...
On behalf of our entire family, I want to send a heartfelt thank you.

The outpouring of support from our friends, family, Ben's classmates (& their parents), co-workers and total strangers has been incredible. Even Ben would be surprised.

While we have raised over $25,000 on this page, we have also received more than $8000 via direct deposit into the 5/3rd Memorial Fund. As of this morning, we have a total of $33,536 from all sources in the account. Also, we are aware of several other fundraising efforts underway which should contribute an additional $10,000. Our $50,000 goal is lofty, but Ben was a "go big or go home" sort of kid.

We are confident we'll hit our goal, but either way we have exceeded expectations. Thank you all!
