While actualizing his life-long dream to motorcycle around the United States this summer, Greg and his bike met with a near fatal accident negotiating a sharp curve on the Oregon Trail in Northern Idaho. He was medevaced to a trauma hospital in Missoula Montana and stabilized for a week before returning to Asheville on August 1.
Diagnosed with a Type II Odontoid Fracture and several compression fractures to his spine, Greg's body attempted to heal without invasive and dangerous surgery. Over 4 months later, there was no sign of healing.
The surgery on 12/15/15 was successful! Greg is now in rehab. Please envision him physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually stronger every day.
In addition to the physical damage as a result of this traumatic accident, Greg has sustained serious emotional and mental distress that has affected his perceptions and strained his relationships.
While Greg is covered by insurance, his limited income cannot cover all of his medical co-pays or opportunities to utilize beneficial alternative therapies to recover and thrive again.
Greg is a proud man, often stubbornly anchored in stalwart cowboy-like self-sufficiency. It is very humbling for him to ask for support. Your financial contribution of any amount would be a tremendous reassurance to him that there are people who do really care and are willing to offer financial assistance to show it.
