Jeff's Battle Against Cancer

Jeff Baker. A devoted family man, a husband, a father, a coach, a dedicated employee and a loyal friend. Like many of you I am so blessed to have Jeff in my life. For me, Jeff is not only a co-worker at Cafua Management Company but is a funny and dear friend. After I tell you his story, please be sure to continue to read about his wonderful family.

Jeff was diagnosed in August with a rare form of cancer called Spindle Cell Sarcoma with complications that have made treatment difficult and so far unsuccessful. Jeff has undergone surgery and several cycles of chemo under the care of the Upstate Oncologist and friend Dr. Rahul Seth. With treatments not shrinking the mass Jeff recently met with a team at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA and has found a specialist willing to defy the odds and perform surgery on December 10th at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

This is where Jeff and his family need your generosity and support. His wife and, at times, his parents, will be staying in the Boston area while Jeff undergoes surgery and what may be a lengthy recovery. Your contributions will help with the stay in Boston and travel but most importantly towards the family's basic living and medical expenses while Jeff recovers. Please join me in supporting Jeff and putting his mind at ease so that he can focus on recovering as long as he may need. Jeff has been a member of the Syracuse community for over 10 years. He resides there with Darlene, his amazing wife of 22 years, who is well-known in the community as a teacher at the East Syracuse-Minoa High School. Jeff has two beautiful and talented children. Steven is 14 and plays basketball and football and Jessie is 9 and she plays lacrosse and soccer. They both play guitar and light up every room.
