Hope for Dee

On Sunday, December 1st, 2019 our mom was t-boned by an SUV on SR 16 in st Augustine Florida less than 4 miles away from her house. She was unconscious at the scene of the accident and was life-flighted to Orange Park Medical Center in trauma ICU. Since she’s been here we’ve discovered she suffered from head trauma with some brain hemorrhaging as well as countless other broken bones.

The first couple of days have been bumpy, keeping her stable but she’s had surgery to repair her femur and we have plans to also fix her fractured ankle under surgery as well. She has broken ribs and as of now she still remains unconscious. 

We are eager and hopeful she will wake soon, but if you know our mom, you already know she is most known for being a hard worker and that lady who walks miles with her chihuahua, Rocket. Chances are if you don’t know Dee, you’ve at least seen her walking somewhere in St. Augustine. She LOVES long walks on the beach and sunny days. 

She is determined and resilient but she has a long road up ahead. This money will go towards paying for medical bills, her recovery process, and any unexpected expenses.
