Cross country medical relocation

I'd like you to meet my 5 year old son Ian, the youngest of 3 wonderful boys.

Ian is an AMAZING little boy, who loves being outside more than anything in the world. Whether it's caring for the chickens, ("HELLO LADIES!!!" he exclaims every morning when gathering eggs) or hiking with Mommy on his never ending quest for wild chanterelle or puffball mushrooms, his heart is in the great outdoors.

Ian is autistic and was diagnosed with Epilepsy when he was three years old after succumbing to multiple seizures. After trying multiple anti-epileptic drugs he is still seizing requiring the use of rescue meds frequently.

Where we currently live in Appalachia, he does not qualify for cbd oil treatments, which could change his life. There are also no programs here to help him with his autism, only glorified day care centers that feel he is not worth teaching. the only programs that does see him as a child and not a diagnosis are all hours away and not within driving distance to us. It is for this reason we are asking for help to move.

We are trying to relocate to colorado, to be closer to both Denver Childrens Hospital and supportive family, (who because of such great distances between us he has not seen since he was a baby.)

As it is well known, children with autism greatly benefit from routine and established, consistent reliable schedules. That knowledge paired with his love of caring for animals and the outdoors , it is our goal to establish a homestead where he can help raise chickens and goats and do what he loves most!

It is our hopes that on this homestead he will learn valuable life skills and self sufficiency, while getting the treatment he needs to live a relatively seizure free life, to form bonds with family who loves him dearly that he would otherwise no be able to see, all while being close to one of the best children's hospitals in the country.

Due to our current financial situation we are struggling to cover our month to month living expenses as I am the only one able to work due to his father having leukemia and taking a chemo pill daily to stay in remission. This has disabled him and as such we currently live off his small SSDI benefits and my retail employment for a household of 5.

We are scheduled to move inin 3 weeks now and while we will be ok once we arrive in colorado, the cost of actually moving across the country is more than what we are able to save for. A friend of mine suggested starting this campaign telling me of all the wonderful people out there with big hearts and how even though it's not a guarantee, it could help us greatly.

This is a breakdown of how the fundraising goal was determined and how any money raised will be spent:

Moving truck quoted at 2,500 with mileage to colorado

600 to cover the gas needed to drive there

250 for the rental of a tow dolly for our car

200 to cover the cost of lodging during the drive to Arizona

350 for the gas needed to drive to Idaho to pick up the rv we will be staying in while our home is built (by us)

600 to drive the rv back down from Idaho to colorado

200 to cover food during both journeys.

and finally 300 for any unexpected expenses during travel (such as blown tire, breakdown, ect)

If you have made it this far, thank you so much for taking the time to read this. <3 Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

In the event that this really takes off and our goal is met, any and all donations  not needed for the move will be donated directly to Denver Children's Hospital  <3
