Ben Needs a Car and other things
I'm a mess, and it's mostly my doing. I'd really like to have the opportunity to turn things around, but I can't do it alone and I can't simply rely on my friends to be able to support me -- they're doing what they can, but they've got their own responsibilities to meet first.
Essentially, I've hit the bottom. I'm not quite homeless, I've got a place to live, but I can't afford the bills. I've got a phone, but it's a prepay account that cuts into my bills. I don't have a car, it was stolen in march, marked as abandoned, and towed by the city who are now holding it on lien, which I can not only not afford to pay, but can't see any reason to pay double the car's value to be returned just to have to dump even more money into getting it fully repaired and drive-worthy. With the phone and the internet I can use from my friends, I can apply for jobs to try to dig myself out, but with a car, I'm restricted to walking distance from my house for work, and that's simply not promising in the slightest.
So I've turned to the internet to attempt to raise money to acquire another car, register and plate it and take care of any other bills that come my way while I try to make this all work, which is why this thing now exists.
and currently in a day-to-day struggle just to function.
kevin thoendel, jo emmanuelson, keith and mary hester, dan birkel, carrie eclectic, pat philipi, carl wilt, erik peters, dan and chelle wright, savanna k, jackson huang, and hoyt fischbeck are all awesome people. you should do great things for them if you see them, especially those on the list that i've never actually met.
