Please help my Memorial Fund! My incredible journey ended on Tuesday,June 16, 2015

Hello! My name is Glen and I live in Lake Station, IN. I am originally from South Chicago, IL. As a young man I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. A couple years ago I was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver. I have been working to lose weight to get on the liver transplant list and have already lost over 140 lbs. In October of 2014 I was diagnosed with cancer in my liver. I have spent the last 3 months mostly at St. Mary’s Hospital in Hobart, IN

My family consists of my beautiful fiancé Mary, Daughter Wendy and Son Glen, Mary’s 3 Daughters Kristen, Lauren and Megan and her son Billy. While I have a lot of things to keep me down right now, I always find happiness playing with my grandchildren. My oldest Grandson, Christian, is a Soldier in the U.S. Army. My next oldest is Justin, he is 16. Nick is 13 and will be 14 in July, Audrey is 8, Evelyn is 4, Teagan is 2, Ava is 21 months, Ian is 8 months and Hailey is 4 months. I have a lot of little princesses that bring great joy to their Pa Pa/Grandpa. Many of the little grandbabies are too young to understand.
Mary has been by my side every day as I fought to beat this. She has done more for me than I ever could have imagined asking. Unfortunately, as anyone that has been in this type of situation knows, that means we haven’t been able to work. With the bills mounting up and us not being able to work, we are in danger of losing our house as we are now behind on our mortgage payment. June 1st they transferred me to the hospital in Indianapolis, 2 ½ hours away from my house. I spent 2 weeks in intensive care. My battle ended on Tuesday. I now leave Mary with the burden of final expenses. My family has helped us financially as much as they can, but with our savings now spent we are barely able to keep the roof over our heads.

I have always seen these pages with people requesting donations and although I haven’t always had the money to help I always shared the stories in the hope that they would reach someone that could. I never thought I would have to make one of these pages myself. It is with these thoughts that I humbly ask for anyone to donate anything they can to assist me in my time of need. Even $1 would be appreciated more than you may know. If you are not in the position to make a donation, I ask that you share this on your Facebook page.

Thank You for taking the time to read this and please keep my family in your prayers!

Love Eternally,
Glen Wells
