Climb for Palestine (The O2 arena)

Donation protected
Many know that every year, Working with Villages in Palestine go to Palestine and do projects on the ground out there, such as planting olive and fruit trees for farmers and familes who have lost their trees due to illegal settlement building. This year is no exception. However, this year we are all focussing on individual projects to fundraise for, and mine this year is raising money for solar lights.
Last year we visited Khirbet Tana, a bedouin community, who have had their property demolished by the Israeli army on numberous occasions. They now have dug into the hills surrounding their land and made caves to live in, as they are not allowed to build on their own land. Naturally it is very dark inside these caves, so we want to provide some individual solar lamps for the families there (some who live 10 to a cave). https://www.facebook.com/WorkingWithVillagesinPalestine/videos/781919695323744/

The Lights we will be buying are from www.solar-aid.org
Each light gives....
Battery: 6 hrs of light when fully charged
Brightness: 18 lumen - 2 times brighter than kerosene
Integrated solar panel: 50mA
Adjustable and detachable stand that gives light height for use as a study lamp, and allows it to be hung.
Every light we buy in the SolarAid store helps to get another solar light to rural Africa. So your purchase is helping us get safe, clean light to families currently living without electricity. So we will be helping 2 different communities  who both need light.

We will be taking out the products in October and delivering to the families then, as we will be doing all the different projects we will be focussing on.

Every penny that we receive is spent on the ground on  Projects in Palestine. Literally every penny raised counts.
Please dig deep into your pockets and be reassured that you will be giving the gift of light to a family this October.

Please look at our Facebook page to see what we are up to out there in October.

So, this year, we have decided to climb the O2 in London as our challenge. Lisa, Elaine, Suzanne and Rachel, will be all harnessed up (hopefully) and will set off climbing up the iconic building on Saturday 8th September to raise funds for Working with Villages in Palestine. The blurb on the website says....."There’s no lift, no escalator, and no-one to carry you. This is an experience that gets your blood pumping and your head in the great outdoors. It’s what we call Urban Mountaineering. And at Up at The O2, it’s what we do best.

As one of our intrepid explorers, you’ll ascend all the way to the top of The O2 via a walkway, suspended 52m above ground level. Kitted out with your climb suit, boots and harness you’ll be every inch the urban mountaineer."

Surely we all deserve a £ or two of your hard earned cash for doing this.

Many thanks to all our supporters, we couldn't do any projects for the people of Palestine without you and your help and generosity.
