VISITATIONS is a story about pursuing one's passions no matter how scary things can get.

A talented young illustrator becomes obsessed with books on the supernatural. The stories inspire her art but they also fill her nights with dread as she hears noises inside her walls and feels something unnatural lurking outside her window. As her life is invaded by the unknown, she must decide whether her art is worth the nightmares as she approaches a breaking point.

The film shoots this summer and we're expecting to complete it by October. The crew is made up of members from the Scary Cow filmmaking cooperative .

Our Goals

We're raising money to help cover some of the production costs for the film, including equipment rental, makeup, and food for the crew. Many of the Kickstarter backers for our last film, Wasp-Men From Mars!, offered to support our next film. Well, here's your chance.

Rewards

Every supporter who supports will receive a digital copy of the film once it's finished.

The Alien

We don't want to overhype this, but the film has a really cool alien in it designed by Dave Haaz-Baroque of Shadow Circus Creature Theatre .

Risks and Challenges

Filmmaking is always a risky venture. Problems can pop up at any stage of production. You’re dependent on location owners, the actors’ schedules, and much, much more.

However, Visitations is being made by an experienced and passionate crew. Many of us have spent years working on independent short films. We’ve overcome many obstacles in the past. (Just ask the crew and supporters of Wasp-Men From Mars!) And with your support, we can get this film done.

Hello GoFunders. (Is that the right term?) I wanted to give you an update on the progress of the film. We're in the middle of editing right now. I suspect it will be a couple months before we have picture lock due our schedules, but everything is going fine so far. I thought I'd share a few stills from the film in-progress with you.

This past Sunday we spent the afternoon doing pick-up shots for the film. A big thanks to Owen and Club Xanadu studio in Berkeley for letting us shoot at your place. We should have a rough cut of the film soon.
