VIOLENCE against women ... I say NO!

Today, I am SAD.
Sad for the women in abusive relationships, with no power to leave. Sad for the wives subjected to control, with no means to escape. Sad for the mothers, torn up in courts, with no chances to keep their kids.
But what I am most saddened by, is that in a country like Australia, when I attempt to help a battered woman, I get mercilessly silenced by her perpetrator-husband’s lawyers with the disrespectful demands to immediately withdraw all aid.
What I know is that:
I. WILL. NOT. SURRENDER.
I. WILL. NOT. ABANDON. HER.
I. WILL. FIGHT. FOR. HER. KIDS.
How can one take a mother from the children who are only a few years old?! How can they steal a primary carer from a chronically ill toddler who has excessive medical needs?! Why would you keep damaging a self-harming daughter by ‘ripping’ her mother to pieces so violently in front of the youngster’s eyes?!
You and I, my amazing Team Nicholas, may never know the answers to these questions. But, what we have done, ALREADY, will never stop to amaze me! I am SO GRATEFUL.
- We’ve raised $ 6,855. It means the family will stay in their own home and they can pay the bills for the whole 3 MONTHS and 3 WEEK.
- We’ve singularly engaged the most amazing legal team, who has won this particular trial. It means the mum can keep her kids for another 5 WEEKS.
- We’ve sent some groceries, the baby items and the doggie food . It means, there’s no need to worry about supplies for roughly 2 MONTHS.
- We are delivering nourishing meals and yummy snacks. You have so graciously offered to help with food INDEFINITELY. Tears in my eyes. They will be daily fed.
- We’ve arranged for babysitting, play dates, sleep-overs, dog walking, house cleaning, removalists, accommodation, furniture, spare hands ... and the list just goes on!!
We’ve sent a myriad of birthday and Christmas presents that will be SO SPECIAL for these two disadvantaged kids.
I am SO TOUCHED Imagine, what would have happened .... if we did not believe ... if we did not get involved How do I say THANK YOU for saving three lives?!
I am so happy with what we have achieved. And ... I am so sad because the fight is far from over
In just 5 weeks time, the mother will be dragged to court, yet another time. She will have no legal representation. He has engaged an expensive law firm. How is that justifiable that the father declares no means to provide for his own children, yet he is capable of paying exuberant legal fees?! This, we will never understand.
In 5 weeks time, without our help, the mother will certainly loose her children; and her own name will be blackened beyond the point of no return.
$5000 is the current going price for one big and two little lives.
$5000 is how much we need to secure the aid of the most talented legal team.
$ 5000 and it will be all over ... we’ve stood up and we’ve won on behalf of all of the abused women, silently suffering wives, humiliated mums and their broken kids.
I know it is a big ask and we have ALREADY done so much ... but ... We just need to find people who are able to contribute $50 each.
$50 and we gift two children the childhood as any childhood should be - with BOTH parents present in their lives!
