Right now in Pictou County, there are folks with no place to lay their head. Since the closure of the former Life Shelter there have been some temporary shelters available. But our community needs a full-time open location to offer those who need it.
Viola’s Place Society will be an adult emergency shelter for women and men in Pictou County, providing basic clothing, toiletries, food, and personal assistance along with shelter.
But Viola's Place needs our help NOW. They have the opportunity to purchase the former property used for the shelter but need to raise the required funds by April 28th!
Why is Bramble Hill Farm interested in helping? I feel very grateful to our community for its support over the last few years as I continue to build my business. Establishing and operating my own business has created massive change in my life & in my family's life. I feel driven to help others create change in their lives through offering year-round fresh, naturally grown foods and offering a way to connect as a community through foods. NOW it's time that my business reach further and help create larger change and so I wish to help support the fundraising efforts for Viola's Place. Without shelter, without the ability for a person to meet their very basic human needs they can not take steps needed to make change in their life.
I wish to help create change in whatever small way I can. So, I am offering what I can do -- GROW! and through your support of this campaign, we together can help our community create change & grow.
For each donation made I would like to thank-you with a small token of appreciation. From my farm to your plate. On May 27th, I invite you to come out to the farm and pick-up your thank-you package which will include: a bag of fresh & tasty pea shoots (Bramble Hill Farm), a small original salad dressing from Our Turn to Cook (https://www.facebook.com/ourturntocook) & a booklet with info & the story of Viola's Place and then some great recipes to enjoy your pea shoots! (Thank you Advocate Printing).
