Vineyard Community Care Support

Hi there, I am Cathy Day co-pastor at Mountain District Vineyard Church. We are a little church with a huge heart for the poor and disadvanged in our local community. We don't see helping people as an optional extra of church life but as extension of our faith.
We are a member of the Knox Emergency network and are a pretty busy bunch handing out groceries, distributing gifts and hampers with the Knox Community Christmas appeal, working with Assylum seekers,  hosting movie nights for lonely people and  a monthly evening meal.
The problem is the church ie our worshipping community is a tiny bunch of about 8 families and they are amazing and fund everything, we receive no government support and while the food itself is donated and the workers are volunteers,  the costs are not small to be able to serve our local community. To do that you need storage, a kitchen, somewhere for people to sit,  office facilities, training in food handling, consumables for admin as well as the stuff to serve the food and clean the place.  To give out free stuff, is not free it costs us time and lots of money.
Basically we are up the creek because we cannot keep funding this without extra help. Government grants are being cut left, right and centre even though need is increasing and to be honest we need to be serving the people rather than spending all of our precious hours trying to  make sure our words fit the criteria for the grant.
The funds we are asking for are to help us continue doing what we believe God has asked us to do in our local community.
