Vidding is the art of combing movie, TV, and/or other kinds of media to song in a transformative way as you have seen described in the video above.  Even David Duchovny thinks it's "cool" &  describes it as "very emotional" He said so on 10/31/2013 at Comic Con on the 20th anniversary of the X Files totally unsolicited.

Vidders.net is a vidding social network that has been around since 2/4/2009 (over 6 years) and is a place for vidders to share, engage and/or comment on vids.  It is Ao3 certified video partner. Vidding has a global impact. Our network and the Organization for Transformative Works were even mentioned in the following spanish language TV segment
Greg Yaitanes (Executive producer & Director of the TV show "House") even acknowledge one talented vidder for her amazing work which has has been mentioned on Fast Company, Huffington Post, and Buzzfeed. Greg even flew her from France to the "House" studios & wrote a personal letter of acknowdgement of her work

This GoFundMe  is to raise funds for moving the Vidders.net network to a new and improved platform. The current platform is outdated and it's video quality is limited.  Careful thought & planning has been put into chosing a new platform and the move has been scheduled for this September.

I will not make this a long pitch. ANYONE who is interested in contributing who has a question you would like to be answered before funding this project should click the following link to ask it and we will answer it and if appropriate included it as part of this Fundraising description in case others have similar questions.

First of all, a big Thank You to all of you who have donated towards this project. What is possible now would not be possible without you. The journey forward is to fulfilling on making you more than just a donor but a proud donor who can say "I was one of the few original supporters of this project" There is joy inherent in giving but there is even more joy in supporting a winning team because you win by association. You don't have to do the work but in supporting the work you deserve and should get just as much credit. It is an honor & a privilege.

It is in this spirit we've increased our goal to $1,500. We have enough to begin work and create something amazing. There is no obligation to give but there is the honor and privilege of adding your name/vidder name to this growing project. For your friends and anyone yet to donate be an "early adopter supporter" and be recognized for making a difference in this emerging community. Let us not be fooled into thinking there is no community. Just because the work is often done is solitude doesn't mean there isn't a shared bond in the work and the viewing of the work. Join the community of supporters where you don't "have" to give but where you "get" to give. Don't be someone who regretfully says I could have been part of something special from the very beginning but I hesitated and just observed from the sidelines. You have excellent company to be associated with.

As for those who have already given stay tuned for exciting updates that only donors will receive. Our progress what you are helping to build and create.
There is still time!

Vidders.net started as Bamvidvault in February of 2009 almost died in 2010 which would have eliminated close 14,000 mostly authentic vids (by authentic I mean vids that would not have made is past You Tube). As of today there are 18,943 videos on the site. I know because I have personally cataloged them all on a spreadsheet. Title, description, views, duration, vidder, etc.

I am in the process of backing up the latest site information following my last backup a while ago. Interesting fact - it took approximately 2 months (24/7) of nonstop downloading to back up our entire video catalog. I assigned each video an ID and each vidder an ID # so it would be easy to track them by ID and Vidder ID # on a spreadsheet. I hope to complete the work this weekend and present even more interesting info about this collection.

Today I stumbled upon a Livejournal project meant to track lost vids. It just breaks my heart to think there are some very brilliant videos that will never be seen again whether that is by hard drive crash, You Tube deletion, or Vidder abandonment. I really want to thank you all for your support for this community because as much as is possible I won't let that happen with this collection and I hope future vidders can trust that our community will be a safe space for their work. In the last 5 years it has been the safest space for authuentic vidding content and we will continue to be so for many years to come.

We have reached the half way mark and a big thank you to all of you who have donated. (I've already thanked each of you individually so I am sort of preaching to the choir). To anyone considering this is your time to say you were there and you helped to make it happen.

Vidding is not going anywhere . It can only get bigger given how marginalized it's already been and yet able to generate appreciation from industry folk as well as have the people in the industry who were vidders. It's critical mass eventuality. More money is made from Fanvids than official videos already ( http://bit.ly/1Ep6vnM) so are we just willing to give them more than we give ourselves? Vidding young, old, local and global. (I know I've seen our membership) It's forever. However, right now we are fighting for the cause. If you are able to give "Whatch ya goin' do ?" If you are able to share "Whatch ya goin' do?" This kind of fight right here is not about marching in the streets as much as how you vote with your dollars. We have about 11 fighters in this campaign. Since you and I already give your money to the capital are you a willing to join this fight? Are you a fighter?
Whatcha going do yall?
