Veteran and victim of the government shutdown
I am a veteran and employee suffering from the ongoing government shutdown. The unfortunate part about my situation is that because my position is deemed “essential” I still have to work without being paid, thus making it impossible to be able to find work elsewhere to supplement my income and take care of my family. I am a single father of two with a son that is in college. Also to add to this trying time anyone that knows me knows my father is very sick due to acute kidney failure and acquiring a rare condition called Calciphylaxis. Although my immediate family has been helping me they can only do so much as they are dealing with my fathers condition and the cost of health care. Please find it in your heart to donate. Any donations are greatly needed and appreciated. Thank you very much.+ Read More
Another day of having to work with no pay and the powers that be do not seem to be any closer to ending the shutdown. My family and I however are very grateful to all the generous people that have donated and shared our story . We appreciate all those that have donated and/or shared our story. As frustrating as these last weeks have been it’s been the outpouring of support for my family that have kept us positive. You all have have brought me to tears at times. Thanks to you I am almost at my goal and it has helped tremendously. THANK YOU!! Please continue to share my story and if you can donate. It’s people like you that make this world a better place!! Thank you.
It has been a very difficult last couple of days for my family and I. There has been no sign of the shutdown ending and the difficulty of having to put your father and children’s grandfather to rest cannot be expressed in words. I would like to thank everyone that has donated no matter the amount. Every amount helps. It’s those generous people that have allowed us to stay positive during this extremely difficult start to the new year. Thank you all and please continue to share our story. Thank you.
