Earlier this year, Vicky had been complaining of severe back pain and a doctor diagnosed her with a spinal problem even though she complained that some of the symptoms and problems she was experiencing pointed to something else. All The doctors ignored her complaints and scheduled spinal surgery for June 23rd. During one of her pre-surgery visits another doctor finally listened to what she was saying and scheduled a colonoscopy; that too five months.

Thanks to that test and that doctor it was found that Vicky had colorectal cancer, on June 1, 2015. An intensive two weeks of tests followed and on June 19th, 2015 Vicky was confirmed as having stage 3 colorectal cancer. Fortunately her new doctors feel that the cancer was found early enough in stage 3 that she should recover completely but it will not be easy.

The treatment plan for Vicky is 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy 5 days a week followed by surgery to remove the cancer, which will also require a colostomy and the installation of a port to allow for the 6 months of chemotherapy following the surgery. After which another surgery will be preformed to reverse the colostomy, if possible.

As you can imagine, the cost of medical treatment will be overwhelming in more so for Vicky as she was terminated from her employment on June 12th 2015 (11 days after being diagnosed). To add insult to injury, her employer is fighting her claim to unemployment

Those of you that know Vicky, know that she is strong willed and a fighter and will overcome this. However she needs help and support, as she has shown to many friends in the past, to overcome this. Any support you can give will be greatly appreciated and go a long way to help her in her journey to recovery from cancer.

Thank you!
