This go fund me page is to help with medical and travel costs while Vic is recovering from a stroke that he suffered last week (August 30th).
The (Vic/Sherry) Kelly family hasn’t had a very easy road. They’ve had several family medical emergencies to deal with over the years. Sherry and Vic’s son Jonathon is a type 1 diabetic and Sherry has a rare condition she has been living with the past 8 years, causing her liver to be enlarged to the point that she looks very pregnant. She is on the transplant list for a new liver and could be called any day for that surgery.
AND Victor….just recently was doing great. He had gotten a new job in June to be closer to Sherry with her condition and he’d come home happy every day. He was losing weight, he was 50 pounds down, he was the happiest he’d been in awhile. Things were starting to look up for them, as they had struggled financially the last few years with all of Sherry and Jon’s health and travel costs and with her health issues she was unable to work, so Vic was the sole provider for the family.
Last Thursday Vic woke up and as he was getting ready for work he collapsed. He was rushed to the Smithers hospital and then to Terrace and then medivacked to Vancouver. He had suffered a stroke. Sherry and both the kids are with him at this time. The doctors say he is progressing slowly, but he has a long road ahead of him. Sherry will be staying in Vancouver to be with him. Now with Vic’s income not coming in and the bills still coming, the stress comes along with it.
Those of you that know Vic, know that he is humorous, outgoing and a very caring man, who likes to make everyone laugh. Just being around him he brings joy to the room. We’re praying to have that Vic back soon.
