Victoria Global Ministry (Victoria Muchiri Children’s Foundation)
Victoria Global Ministry was founded in 2014 in memory of Victoria Nyambura Muchiri, a biology student at The Ohio State University. In 2009, at the age of 17, Victoria, her mother Faith, and brother Victor went to visit family in the Mwea Tebere region of Central Kenya. While there Victoria observed children roaming the streets and suffering from malnutrition. Victoria was heartbroken by the poor living conditions so she told her mother that she would volunteer to help those children after graduating from college. Victoria’s dream was cut-short when her life tragically ended on August 7, 2014, at the age of 22. Thus the foundation of Victoria Global Ministry to keep Victoria’s legacy alive and bring this dream to reality.
Our philosophy is that every one of these vulnerable children deserves an opportunity to experience stability, dignity, security and permanency in their lives. This idea has become the driving force behind the formation of Victoria Global Ministry. This organization aims at providing the children, most of whom are orphaned, a home where their basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, medical attention, and an education are met. In addition, the needs of spiritual and emotional development are met as well, ultimately leading to an end goal of empowering them to become strong successful members of the community.
With this in mind, Victoria Global Ministry plans to purchase and renovate a property, with already existing buildings, into an orphanage that is located in the very community where our targeted population lies. Upon completion children, ages 3-4, will be brought into the campus from the local community. As we grow we plan to reach children in other communities to live and attend school under the loving care of house parents.
We have realized that investing in the lives of these children now is one of the best ways to ensure that future generations in this community have a chance at a brighter future with healthier families. Through Victoria Global Ministry we have an opportunity to give back to the community and share with children the joy of belonging. Please do join us in fulfilling this very call.
