Veteran's Field Farm Start Up in PA

The number of Veterans dealing with depression, PTSD and thoughts of suicide is staggering.
Losing 22 vets a day to suicide has to end.
It is a complex problem that is a combination of difficulty with transitioning to civilian life, a feeling of isolation and a loss of sense of purpose. That, combined with all the barriers to getting traditional treatment, makes the problem even worse.
There has to be a better way.
After World War II, gardening was used as a part of the rehabilitation program for hospitalized war veterans. It was well known that getting out in nature, putting in time to produce tangible results, is good for the body and mind. Working as a team to grow food for local vets and the community in need provides a sense of purpose and camaraderie.
Veteran's Field is a start up in the Philadelphia suburbs seeking non-profit status. We will be lauching this Spring and the funds we raise will go towards the initial funds needed for the program.
This program will be able to help a lot of veterans in our area and also the community at large.
