Veteran/Nurse fighting Leukemia

Donation protected
I am raising money for my husband Josh Misenhimer.  He spent 12yrs in the Army with three combat deployments to Iraq and receiving three Bronze Stars for his actions.     After being medically discharged from the National Guard he started his journey as a Nurse.  He has worked as an intensive care nurse for the last 7yrs.  He has been in college since 2010 receiving his bachelors in nursing and staring a graduate program to become a Nurse Practitioner.
On April 26, 2018 Josh got sick and was admitted to the hospital.  His white blood cell count (WBC) was 83,900: normal is 5-10,000.  They did a bone marrow biopsy on him and he was out of work for 3 weeks.  On May 3, 2018, one day after his 38th birthday, Josh was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia and his WBC was 100,400.  They started him on a chemo pill ad the side effects have been pretty rough. He has missed a lot of work and we are not sure if he will be able to continue to be at the bedside...where he loves to be.
If you have ever met Josh you would know he is a fighter.  He loves his family and friends and loves his patients.  He is an exceptional nurse, father and husband.  He loves his country and would return to the fight today if he was called up.
So why did I set up this account.  Honestly, it is because I love my husband, his two boys love their father and we want to help relieve the financial stress Josh bares, and try to help him focus on not worrying about paying this bill or finding money for co-pays or meds.  The medicine alone is $13,000/mo.  Thankfully we have insurance but there is a lot of out of pocket fees that still must be paid.  A lot of time off work, cause the physical strain of working wears him down.  He has severe bone pain and fatigue, and severe nausea on a daily basis.  He pushes through the side effects to try and work to off set some of the costs and provide for his family.
Josh has supported me and our children for  20+yrs now.  It’s time to try and help relieve the financial pain and burden and get him to focus on taking care of himself so he can get to a remission state.  Leukemia cannot be cured but he can get to a remission state and live a long life.  It is unclear if he will be physically able to continue to work and honestly right now I just need him to take care of himself and not push himself to have to work.
All I ask is that you pass Josh’s story along.  He has worn the field of battle and continues to fight daily against Leukemia and pushes himself to work.  As his family we love him and hope to help Josh get to a remission state and with God’s blessings a cure.  Thank you for reading this and please pass it along so we can spread Josh’s story and help him to know we are in the fight with him.  May God bless each of you and may God heal this wonderful man.
