Vet Funds for Grizz

Donation protected
Less than ten days ago, Max and I had to put our 15 year old cat Minnie to sleep. She was in heart failure, and we made the difficult decision to let her sleep. To heal our hearts, we adopted another cat four days ago. Grizz is 8 months old, very playful, and perfect for our family.

After noticing his breathing was labored, we took him straight to a veterinary hospital, PVSEC. Their veterinarians let us know that he most likely has a congenital heart disease and was in failure. At this point, we are waiting for the cardiologist to give us an update, but unfortunately it does not look good for Grizz to be showing signs of heart failure at such a young age.

His care has already cost us $3,000 to keep him on continuous oxygen while we wait for a more conclusive report from the specialist. For additional care, we received an estimate that it could be upwards of $6,000-$8,000. Max and I are usually financially able to account and plan for situations, but this has left us dumbfounded and completely heartbroken.

Update: The cardiologist had gotten in contact with me from PVSEC cardiology department. They said Grizz was in congestive heart failure last night, and his prognosis was just as we had thought. His heart disease would have left him taking lots of experimental medications and oxygen, but he wouldn't live for more than a couple of months.
