Send Orion to Summer Camp

Donation protected
This is our son Orion, a five-year old boy who knows what he wants out of life and is happy to work toward his dreams. He loves to learn, and possess a strong will to learn everything about anything. At the age of 2 Orion developed a special interest in the Asian culture. His favotire show to watch was Ultraman which was in japanese and at the end the credits showed in japanese Characters, Orion began  wanting to learn how to read and write Japanese. At home we began watching documentaries about japan, china, korea etc. Now He is enroled in a Mandarin immersion program and takes Korean and japanese after school. He says he wants to become a "Shaolin Monk" when he grows up hehe. . Even though our son seems mature for his young age, he still enjoys being a kid – running around, climbing trees, getting dirty, collecting bugs to keep as pets (which freaks out mom sometimes). Also, he has a sweet and nurturing side, which shows in his natural instinct to watch over and protect his baby sister when she gets into mischief.

Our baby boy wants nothing more than to spend his summer with his friends learning more about their common interests. As parents facing a situation where our child is being picked on in school, our hands are tied. We want nothing more than to give both our children the tools to fuel their thirst as well as provide a comfortable, safe place to acquire that knowledge. But in this economy, with both parents not having in-demand degrees, it is difficult to fund their interests without taking away from providing for their basic needs. It’s especially difficult when we see Orion have difficulty in school because of the bullying, and he is the one who wants to go to this summer camp so he can learn in a comfortable environment. Orion is a sweet and loving child, whom we believe deserves all of the tools to success. He has begged us to send him to this summer camp and while we would love to fulfill our son’s wishes, we cannot do this on our own. We would be eternally grateful to anyone and everyone for helping us in raise the money to grant Orion’s wish and make him happy.
