Rebuilding V's Cupcakes

At approximately 4am on Sunday, May 21 my business was destroyed by a devastating fire. It is overwhelming to think of everything we have lost after working so hard to build V's Cupcakes over the past 3 years. The antiques my husband and I searched for, the glitter wall that took the two of us an entire day to paint, and most of all the memories and friendships that we gained along the way - now all just a mix of ash and rubble where our beautiful shop once stood.
This business, my dream, helped to motivate me through the most difficult times during my fight against Lyme Disease. I spent many sleepless nights, too weak to move, working out every recipe and every detail. However, Lyme did not kill me and this will not either.
V's Cupcakes was not just a bakery or a cafe, but a place where the community came together to share smiles and nut-free sweets. We have recieved such an amazing outpouring of support and we cannot let this dream die in the fire. We now have a chance to rebuild our business from the ground up, avoiding the pitfalls and improving efficiancy to better serve our customers who we appreciate so dearly.
Although we have insurance, it does not come close to covering the expenses of having to rebuild a business from the ground up. Much of my original equipment was inherited or donated and my location had an established kitchen, among many other cost-saving measures.
We are now asking for donations to help get us back on our feet and back into the kitchen. We want to be able to recreate the beautiful atmosphere and beautiful treats that distinctively make us, V's Cupcakes. Our goal is $5,000 - any additional funds will go directly to those who suffer from Lyme Disease and to Lyme Ontario. We sincerely appreciate any donations that you can offer.
