My Mom's Breast Cancer Battle

March 8, 2016 was the day my mom was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She was just supposed to have a lumpectomy that was scheduled April 6th, 2016 but the doctor saw more suspicious lumps in her breast. With that being said, she and the doctor decided on a double mastectomy and that is going to be scheduled in the beginning of May. She will be out of work for 4-6 weeks and may not have enough paid leave to be out for that long. Also, her job doesn't do short-term disability. I am currently a junior in college, going to be a senior at SUNY Brockport in the Fall of 2016. My brother will be graduating high school this year and will be attending SUNY Morrissville in the Fall of 2016. So with this diagnosis, multiple doctors appointments and her financial support for my brother and I as a single mom is a struggle.
