As the President of the Cold Lake unit of Veterans UN/NATO Canada, Chris Smithers graciously offered to shave his head to raise money for Valour Place in Edmonton, AB.
Valour Place is a temporary home away from home for all Canadian Forces members, RCMP, Families of the Fallen, Veterans and First Responders along with their families who require medical treatment in Edmonton, and live outside the city/area.
Smithers was a little too happy about shaving his head, so instead I am raising money to force him to keep it until Canada Day 2018.
A joyful addition to this is another member Justin Pautsch who was offering to shave his beard for donations. I couldn't see that being a good idea, so I've lumped him into the mix and getting him to keep his glorious beard until he returns to work after his parental leave...which coincides with the 01 Jul 2018 date!
In another twist of fundraising enthusiasm, another of our members Tony Roberts (well his wife to be honest) volunteered to have funds raised and Tony would have his chest waxed! I have met Tony only a few times, and I honestly thought he was made of a skinned orangutang.
All funds raised will be donated to Valour Place.
